Ms. Rutland's Third Grade Class
Hi! Welcome to our Third Grade class! This is going to be an exciting year. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email me or call the school. Email is usually the quickest way to reach me. I try to check it a couple of times a day while at school.
About the TeacherMy name is Beth Rutland. This is my 14th year to teach. I spent most of my life in Madison. I attended Delta State University where I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. Immediately after college, I began teaching in Rankin County, where I spent the first five years of my teaching career. I taught Kindergarten for two years and second grade for three. I moved back to Madison and taught third grade for three years. During this time, my interest in working with struggling learners grew, which led me to a new position as a Resource and Inclusion teacher for third grade. During this time, I received my National Board Teacher Certification in Exceptional Education: Mild and Moderate Disabilities: Birth to 21 years.I am so excited to take the knowledge I have gained back into the general education classroom this year! I look forward to building your child's strengths, developing their weaknesses, and loving them for who they are! I love being part of the Mannsdale Upper team!I have three children of my own (Ali Grace, Bradley, and Ava). Ali will be a sophomore at Ole Miss, Bradley will be a junior attending the MS School of Math and Science, and Ava will be in 6th grade. I also have three dogs (Lolli, Houser, and Disco). I love Science and I really enjoy reading during my spare time. I am passionate about learning and am looking forward to a great year!
