A Message from Mrs. Houghton
Welcome to our exciting 2021-2022 school year. I am so excited about starting my seventh year as principal of Mannsdale Upper Elementary. This year we will continue celebrating Building Citizens of Excellence. Over the past seven years, MUES has been committed to excellence in all that we do. It is that excellence that has helped us become and maintain our A status as a school.
This year we will continue looking at growth mindsets, raising our garden, building citizens of excellence, and practicing kindness. We are excited to add art to our schedule this fall, and thanks to the generosity of PTO, we will add STEAM classes to our Thursday rotation days. It is going to be a fun and exciting year as we navigate another year of change.I have been married to my husband Corky for over thirty years. We have three children and a newly added son-in-law, Haley, A.J., Chase, and Kelsey. I enjoy traveling, reading, exercising, and hanging out with my family.I believe that reading is paramount in education and at home. Reading to and with your children daily is one of the best activities you can do to help increase their vocabulary and comprehension skills, so please read with your children as often as you can. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.Mannsdale Upper adopted a Vision and Mission statement and a motto. We feel that the mission, vision, and motto exemplifies who we are and where we want to go in the future.VISION STATEMENT
