Welcome to the 24-25 School Year!
My name is MSgt Art Thompson, and I am so excited to be your Aerospace Science Instructor. This will be my 19th year teaching at Madison Central/Rosa Scott Schools. If you ever need additional assistance, email me if you would like to schedule a time during my planning block (4th and 8th period).
Here's some important information:
Canvas
Canvas is the District's web-based learning management system. It is used to access and manage online course learning materials and communicate. All class content will be uploaded to Canvas. Parents, click link to become a Canvas Class Observer to view your child's lessons and grades.
GroupMe
GroupMe is the communication of choice for AFJROTC mobile messaging platform to communicate with students and parents. Text @ to join GroupMe or join below.

- United States Air Force Retired after 23 years as an Information Manager
- Received Associate of Applied Science Degree in Information Management from the Community College of the Air Force
- Completed Bachelor of Science in Management, December 2009, Belhaven College, Jackson, Mississippi
- I have been teaching AFJROTC for 19 years.
Classroom Rules
Ø Under No Circumstances: Disrespect and insubordination towards an instructor will be tolerated.
Ø Under No Circumstances: Will any cadet be allowed to chew gum in the AFJROTC classroom.
Ø Under No Circumstances: Will a cadet consume any food or beverage in the AFJROTC classroom, this policy is strictly enforced at MCHS and RSHS, without the permission of an instructor.
Ø All cell phones will be turned off and placed in back packs during classroom instruction, unless an instructor directs otherwise.
ØAll cadets will have nothing on their desk that is not needed for AFJROTC
ØAll cadets will put their purses and coats in the metal basket underneath the desk
ØAll cadets must enter the classroom quietly and place all book bags in the instructor’s designated area.
ØAll cadets are required to be ready for instruction when the instructor for the day enters the room (no exceptions).
