    The first three years of school are critical for providing children with a strong foundation for future learning. In Ridgeland, we are proud to be doing just that with one of the best K-2 schools in the state, Ann Smith Elementary. 

    The mission at Ann Smith is to build for the future by moving each child to the next level. The school challenges and encourages students to help them develop a lifelong love of learning, while providing the knowledge and skills they'll need for a lifetime of success.

    Instruction is positively impacted by positive behavior and healthy choices. 

    That we must really get to know our students and differentiate instruction so we can help them 

       meet their individual academic goals. 

    All kids can learn and our diversity is a strength. 

    Need to prepare kids with the 3 R's (reading, writing, and arithmetic) and the 4 C's (creativity,  

        collaboration, critical thinking, and cooperation). 

    Science, Technology, Engineering, and Arts Integration engage students in authentic learning and  

       and prepare them for college and careers in the 21st century.
