Welcome to Ann Smith Kindergarten! I am so happy to have your child in my class this year. I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Elementary Education from Mississippi College. This will be my 29th year to teach Kindergarten. I have taught at Clinton Park Elementary, Kosciusko Lower Elementary, and Madison Station before coming to Ann Smith Elementary. In 2016, I became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2017. I also had the honor of being the Madison County Elementary District Teacher of the year for the 2018-2019 school year. In 2020, I was honored to be selected as a State Finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. My hobbies include playing softball, golf, kayak/canoeing, reading, and participating in Bible studies.
My assistant teacher, Eden Breeland, has been with me for 7 years. She has a degree in Architectural Design and a degree in Drafting. She has been happily married for 6 years and they have two babies... a kitty named Loki and a baby girl, Finley, who just turned 2 years old. She enjoys spending time with her family & friends, kayaking, listening to music, cooking, crafting, and watching Mississippi State football and baseball.

If you ever have any questions, please feel free to contact me.  You can call the front office at 601-856-6621, send a note in your child's blue folder, or send me a text on Remind 101.  I am looking forward to a great year!
