    Greetings,

I am so excited to be your child's teacher for the 2020--21 school year.   I am committed to maintaining a classroom climate which understands no limits to the achievement and success of each student.  I am eager to meet and greet each student and parent as they become a member of TEAM TITAN. Upon transitioning to our new normal, I encourage parents, as well as, virtual parents to get involved immediately with your child's education to ensure that some form of homework or studying is accomplished each night.  Talk with your child; ask to see their assignments; have them explain to you what they are working on.  If you would like to follow along with the content and assignments of your student’s teachers who use Canvas, use the following steps. Creating a Parent Account in Canvas.

Parents and students can check student's grades and monitor progress and attendance through the parent and student portals of “Active Parent".  Active Parent can be accessed through our Ridgeland High school web site at  www.rhs.titans.com. Current school events, announcements, news releases, important information, student recognition and teachers’ websites, can be accessed through the Ridgeland High school website as well. Parents and students will be assigned a password to access Active Parent.   If you need to access Active Parent, please contact Mrs. Croley the data records clerk.

    Business Advantage Program

Else School of Management at Millsaps College

    December 2020

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in business education at the University of Southern Mississippi and Masters in Instructional Technology at Mississippi State University. My proudest personal educational accomplishment was receiving National Board Certification in 2004 (renewed 2014). Being selected by the Mississippi Economics Council as a participant in the Business Advantage program at Else School of Management at Millsaps College was a rewarding experience.

I charted the first (FBLA) Future Business Leaders of America chapter at Noxubee County High School and Ridgeland High School.  I have been an FBLA adviser since that time. In April 2007, I was elected Mississippi FBLA adviser of the year.  I'm also the Co-Coordinator of the Recycling Team at RHS.  I have served as an executive board member of Mississippi Business Education Association, American Federation of Teachers member, advisory committee for Holmes Community College, PTSO member New Hope Christian School, PTA Hillcrest Christian School, and hold affiliations with several other professional organizations.

Major changes in education has occurred during my years of teaching.  I believe in order to successfully teach, constant “change” is required to stay abreast of the technologies and platforms used in the ever-changing workplace. Because of this, I have been and continue to be involved in seeking professional development training.  The greatest personal satisfaction is seeing a student understand and become excited about his or her learning/knowledge.  I strongly believe that a teacher can make a difference in the life of each student.  I continually strive to improve my classroom teaching and encourage students to develop high personal standards. Working with students has been and continues to be a rewarding experience.

I believe that teaching is more than instructing from a textbook.  A teacher must teach by example.  My goal is to equip every student with the necessary skills to function effectively in a rapidly changing technological society.  Well, enough about me.  I’m really excited about getting a chance to work with each of you and expose you to the wonderful classes and opportunities at Ridgeland High School.

    Have a great school year!
