Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to 8th grade United States History! My name is Mrs. Frazier and this is my 6th year teaching at Olde Towne. I love teaching and I love history so I hope we have a great year! A little information about me: I coach cross country for middle and high school and I'm the head girl's basketball coach here at Olde Towne, I will also be coaching high school track this year. I graduated from Tennessee Tech University where I ran cross country and track for 4 years on scholarship. I still enjoy running and ran in the Boston Marathon this past spring. I love to travel and experience new cultures. I've been to Nicaragua, Thailand, The Czech Republic, Scotland, England, Portugal, France, Italy, Austria, Germany, Spain, Malta, San Marino, Vatican City, Morocco, Japan, Malaysia, India, The Seychelles, and the United Arab Emirates. I try to travel whenever I can and I always have a story or a picture of my travels for my students. I'm a proud Titan and I love to help my kids succeed. Our classroom pet is Abraham Lincoln who has his own instagram page: thinkinlincoln1863. If you follow his page you'll see what's up in our class, bonus questions, my travels, and sometimes test questions. If you have a question or comment please feel free to email me!
Classes for March 23-27: During this time away from school, we will take our history education to Canvas. Students have a solid understanding of how to use Canvas because we have used it in my classroom all year. I will not use any assignment formats that we have not already learned how to use in class. With that said, I am working on a Module for students to complete from home next week- the title of the Module is "History at Home!". Everything will be displayed in daily assignments but students can complete as much as they want at one time. Each day's worth of material should not take more than 45 minutes- just enough to keep the wheels in their heads turning! They will move through each assignment in order and they must complete an assignment before they move on to the next page. I hope that everyone is healthy, know that I love you and I miss you, and if you have any questions please email me and I will do my best to help you from afar.
Reminders and Canvas help:
If you cannot access a page that means you did not complete the page before it.
If the assignment is to read a passage, you will need to check the "mark as read" box in the top right corner.
All of the assignments will unlock on Monday, March 23, 2020 and will lock on Sunday, March 29, 2020.
The quizzes are untimed but if you do not submit they will not score.
Do not copy and paste on the essay questions
