Hi! My name is Jessica Heath, and I am a resource and inclusion teacher for 7th graders. This is my fifth year as a special education teacher, and I am beyond excited to be a part of your child's middle school journey. I attended Olde Towne as a student during the school's first two years of existence, and I graduated from Madison Central High School in 2002. I am a lifelong resident of Madison County, and it's a privilege to be back at Olde Towne. I have a bachelor's degree from Mississippi State University, and I have been married for twelve years. My husband and I have three children. Our boys are nine and five, and our daughter is one. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, traveling, sewing, and cheering for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. I also love to watch my sons play soccer and baseball. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child. If you ever have a question or concern, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Students in my classes are required to bring a library book with them to each class as we will often have silent reading time. The number one area where I would like to see growth in my students is their reading abilities. We will dissect passages and look for unfamiliar words with the goal of expanding vocabulary...READERS ARE LEADERS!
In my classroom I stress the importance of hard work and have asked your students to help me help them. Please understand that not all homework requires written responses....they can ALWAYS review. I have high expectations, and I want nothing less than the best from your child. I will do my best for them and for you!
PARENTS: Do you have an active parent account so that you can follow your child's grades? If not, it's just a phone call away. Please call the school to request your account. It is strongly encouraged for all parents to have an account in order to follow student progress.
Earn and give respect.
