A Message from Mrs. Houghton
What a difference a Pandemic makes. This is my sixth year to lead Mannsdale Upper Elementary, but it is going to be a year of firsts. It is our first year to have a virtual school working along side of us, it is our first year to 'social distance,' it is our first year to require cloth face coverings, and it is our sixth year to provide great education for our students. This year we will continue celebrating Building Citizens of Excellence. Over the past six years MUES has been committed to excellence in all that we do. It is that excellence that has helped us become and maintain our A status as a school.I have been married to my husband Corky for over thirty years. We have three children, Haley, Chase, and Kelsey. I enjoy traveling, reading, exercising and hanging out with my family.I believe that reading is paramount in education and at home. Reading to and with your children daily is one of the best activities you can do to help increase their vocabulary and comprehension skills, so please read with your children as often as you can. Mannsdale Upper Elementary School will strive to maintain the highest standard of integrity while developing character, preparing students academically, socially, emotionally, and physically to build a strong foundation for success in all aspects of life. We will provide an enriching education with high expectations in a safe environment, working in partnership with our families, our community, and every person that enters our school.
