Welcome back students! I am very excited for another year at Olde Towne! This is my third year teaching 6th Grade English at OT. I graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in English. Hail State! This past school year was an exciting one! This past November I got married, my husband and I adopted our first puppy, Beau, and I achieved a personal goal by receiving my M.Ed. from LSU Shreveport. I can't wait to see what this school year holds!! I enjoy all things Mississippi State, Disney, and literature.
This year we are going to be working hard every day to meet our classroom and school's expectation of excellence! We will be focusing on our growth mindsets to create and meet goals throughout the year. We will write essays, analyze texts, complete projects, read group novels, as well as read an in-class novel. I am a BIG supporter of the importance of responsibility. The jump from elementary to middle school is big, but I expect students to be responsible for their learning. This means coming to class prepared EVERY day, listening and participating during lessons, and giving their BEST effort EVERY SINGLE DAY. Please make sure to check my teacher website DAILY for important information regarding announcements, homework, daily agenda, and handouts. I check my email (listed above) multiple times a day. Please feel free to email me with any questions or leave a message with the school and I will return the call as soon as possible.
It's a great day to be a Titan!
