Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year!
Welcome to 8th Grade English Language Arts. My name is Gwen Glover. This will be my 20th year in education and my 6th year at OTMS. I earned my Bachelors in Elementary Education at the University of Southern Mississippi and my Masters of Education at William Carey University. I am certified in English, Reading, Social Studies, Special Education, and School Counseling. I have taught in classrooms ranging from Pre-K to adult during my 19 years in education. I have 2 daughters, one currently working on her 2nd Masters at UWA and another attending Ridgeland High. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, football, traveling and supporting my daughters and granddaughter in all that they do.
CANVAS: This year, students will use Canvas as a part of our class as well as a variety of other resources. Each student should or will have access to CANVAS. Students will need to access CANVAS daily for assignments and communication.
Parents: Please encourage students to come to school everyday prepared to participate and collaborate. Also, students and parents need to sign up for our class Remind 101 within the first week of school. Parents, please attach your student's name to yours when you sign up.
Students: Self-discipline and self-control will play important roles in your ability to be successful in my class this year. Let's be prepared every day and ready to participate, learn, and grow! :-)
