Meet the Teacher
Welcome to Third Grade
Mrs. Samantha Braddy
Virtual ELA Teacher
I am so happy to welcome you to my virtual classroom! The 2020-2021 school year is going to be full of new adventures and many first for you and me. You’ll meet new friends, learn lots of new skills, and make wonderful new memories. I can’t wait!
I have been teaching for fourteen years. I received my bachelors in elementary education at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL, and taught kindergarten for a year in Talladega, AL. After moving to MS, I received a job at Casey Elementary where I taught for 12 years. While at Casey I received my masters in elementary education at JSU and learned how to teach through the arts. Within the past couple of years, I returned to school at Belhaven University and earned my Specialist degree in administration.
This is my second year at Highland Elementary, my first virtual year, but not my first rodeo in third grade. I have nine years of experience in third grade, and each year, I have had one hundred percent of my students pass the Gate Test! I have 13 years of experience teaching through arts integration. I will be continuing to use arts integration in my in my virtual classroom.
When I’m not teaching, I can be found spending time with my husband and son, or snuggling with my Siamese cat, Silas, while reading a good book. I love being by any body of water and listening to whatever genre of music that fits my mood.
