Althea F. Woodson is a mathematics educator with twenty combined years of secondary and postsecondary experience from working in Mississippi, Texas, and Tennessee. Ms. Woodson earned her M.S. and B.S. degrees in mathematics from Jackson State University (2004) and Alabama State University (1999). She has completed the Mississippi Writing & Thinking Institute (2017) and the Mississippi State University Research and Curriculum Unit’s Coach University program (2018-2019). Ms. Woodson was honored as 2018 Pelahatchie High School Teacher of the Year and 2018 Rankin County School District’s Secondary Teacher of the Year. She believes all students deserve engaging, student-centered, and rigorous instruction that provides collaborative opportunities which prepares them to be career or college ready citizens who think critically and possess the skills to perform in today’s society successfully. Ms. Woodson is an empathetic educator committed to improving student learning and achievement.
