Welcome To 5th Grade!
My name is Mrs. Nash, and I am so excited to be teaching 5th grade English and Language Arts at Mannsdale Upper Elementary this year!
I grew up in Birmingham, AL where I first learned to love teaching. My mom, sister-in-law, and grandmother are all teachers too! I made my way to Mississippi when I attended college at Mississippi College in Clinton. I graduated from Mississippi College with a degree in Elementary Education K-12 and endorsements in English, Reading, and History. This year will be my fifth year of teaching and my third year here at MUES. I am so excited to be a part of this community and help each of my students achieve their academic goals in the 2022-2023 school year. Go Mavs!
My Educational Philosophy
As a teacher, I encourage each student to set their own academic goals and create a plan to achieve them. My classroom is a place of growth, encouragement, and creativity. I want students to feel capable and know that they each have a unique set of gifts which makes them special. I believe that each student is created differently and their individual learning styles should be allowed to flourish in the classroom. I am excited to learn more about each of my students and help them grow!

- I love spending time with my family, reading, and finding fun things to do outside!
- My favorite color is light blue.
- My favorite author is C.S. Lewis. I am SO excited that we get to take a trip to Narnia this year!
- My favorite food is anything chocolate!
We are going to have a fantastic year and I cannot wait to meet each of you!
