Background:
I am a graduate of Madison County Schools and the University of Mississippi. After graduating from Ole Miss, I started as a Certified Substitute with Madison County Schools in 2017 and began teaching at Madison Central the following year. After that first year, I took some time away from the classroom to fulfill a personal calling of mine. I spent the next two years enlisting and later commissioning as an officer in 2021 into the Mississippi Army National Guard 223rd Engineer Battalion, 168th Engineer Brigade. In 2022, I will make my way back to the teaching world at Germantown High School.
Teaching:
I am entering my fourth year of teaching in the 24/25 school year. Each year gets better and better. Although I may not have realized it early in my life, my fate was always to become a teacher. The three years I spent away from the classroom left an emptiness within me. I just could not stay away. One thing I hope to teach my students outside the curriculum is that it is never too late to learn. No matter what may stand in our way we have the ability to learn and move mountains.
