About the Teacher
My name is Brande Winstead. I am a graduate of Belhaven University and a National Board Certified Teacher. I will be completing my master's degree in Educational Leadership from Mississippi College this fall. This is my twelfth year to teach in the Madison County School District. I have taught Kindergarten, First and Second grades. Helping my students discover the love of reading is one of my favorite things about being a 1st grade teacher. I believe school should be an engaging and positive environment where my students feel safe and valued. My hobbies are reading, painting, and boating with my family. My family and I also enjoy tailgating at MSU football games. My husband, Mark and I are members of Ridgecrest Baptist Church where we facilitate a married couples life group.
Favorite words to live by: ...whatever is TRUE, whatever is NOBLE, whatever is RIGHT, whatever is PURE, whatever is LOVELY, whatever is ADMIRABLE-if anything is EXCELLENT or PRAISEWORTHY- think about such things. -Phillippians 4:8
Mark, and I have three wonderful children, Tyler, Chandler, and Karlea. We also have a sweet daughter-in-law, Ashton. Tyler and Ashton live in Brandon and are members of The Mississippi Community Symphonic Band. Chandler is beginning medical school at UMMC. Karlea is beginning her junior year as a Bulldog and is majoring in Marketing. Children are a blessing and I look forward to loving and teaching your child this year! Go Jags!
