Reading is thinking!W.A.R. (We All Read)
Students must bring their library book to class/school everyday for ELA class and for W.A.R. time.
W.A.R. is a school wide silent reading time everyday.

The purpose of this course is to develop and strengthen reading through the integration of reading, writing, listening, speaking, viewing, and critical thinking. The program also incorporates comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, and captivating texts that hold student interest and motivate students to read both for information as well as enjoyment using student choice books. Through this program, the students will learn how to analyze and correspond to a variety of texts which helps to develop an appreciation for reading.
About the Teacher
I graduated from Mississippi College in 1992 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and started teaching at Rosa Scott Middle School in 1993. While teaching at RSMS, I returned to Miss. College and earned a Master's Degree in Education in 1999. In 2002, I moved to Madison Middle School where I went on to become Highly Qualified in Middle School Language Arts. I transferred to Madison Crossing Middle in 2006 and then to Germantown in 2009. While teaching here at GMS, I earned my National Board Certification in Early and Middle Childhood Literacy and Language Arts. I am proud to be a Maverick!!!
