Mrs. Jennifer Coate was recently named the Madison County School District's High School Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Coate wears many hats at the Academic Options Center. She teaches Sociology, Psychology, Learning Strategies, ACT PrepVirtual, AP US Government, and Virtual AP US History. She is also the AOC's Test Coordinator. She has taught for 19.5 years (8 in Louisiana and 11.5 in Mississippi). She currently holds a B.A. in Political Science (Pre-Law) and a B.A. in Secondary Education. She also obtrained a Masters in Education in the area of Curriculum and Testing and a Masters of Arts degree in History. She is a Nationally Board Certified Teacher in the area of High School Social Studies.
She and her husband Bryan, a Navy Veteran and Maritime Captain on the Mississippi River are both originally from the New Orleans area. They have a daughter, Bryanna, who is a 6th grader at Germantown Middle School. Mrs. Coate also serves as a board member with Junior Auxiliary of Madison County and chairs projects that benefit many of our students in the Madison County School District. We are fortunate to have Mrs. Coate as a part of our AOC family! We appreciate her daily efforts to make the AOC a wonderful place for both staff and students and congratulate her on a job well done!
