About Mrs. Herden

My name is Ashley Herden, and this is my third year teaching at Highland Elementary.  I previously taught for five years at Power APAC/Wells APAC, a magnet school for academically and artistically gifted students in Jackson, MS, and for 9 years at Madison Station Elementary.

Credentials:

I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Millsaps College in Jackson, MS. 

I am certified to teach K-6 Elementary (all subjects), Reading (grades K-12), and Social Studies (grades 7-12).

I am a National Board Certified Teacher in the area of Early to Middle Childhood Literacy.

Personal Info:

My husband, Ian, and I have one 13-year-old daughter named Emma who will start eighth grade this year at Madison Middle School. We also have 2 dogs named Tessa and Blaze.  When I'm not teaching or doing something teaching-related, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, shopping, and reading.  I am looking forward to a great year with your child in third grade!
