Welcome Jag Families!!
My name is Marsha Peoples and I am excited to serve as Principal of East Flora Elementary School. I am from Columbus, MS where I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the Mississippi University for Women. I earned my Master's, Specialist's, and Doctorate degrees from Mississippi College in Clinton, MS. I taught first grade for seven years and third grade for one year in the Jackson Public School District. I then served as a Literacy Specialist in the Madison County School District for five years. I've served at Luther Branson Elementary and Ann Smith Elementary. In 2020, I became the assistant principal at East Flora, then moved into the lead position in 2022.
I love children and watching them learn new things. It is exciting to see students the growth in student academics at EFE! Our students, teachers and staff, and families have caught the wave of growth and we are excelling. Extracurricular student groups such as choir, art club, robotics, book club, and sports teams have given students extra spaces to find their niche.
East Flora feels like home and we are on our pathway to proficiency. It's a great day to be a jag!
