I am Ronnie Smith and I am excited to be the assistant Principal at Rosa Scott. I am a native of Columbia, Mississippi, where I graduated from East Marion High School. I furthered my educational career at Jackson State University, earning a bachelor's and master's degree in physical education. I also earned an Ed.S degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.
I started my career in the Jag Zone of the Madison County School District as a PE/Health teacher and coach. Throughout my 17 years working in the MCSD, I have had the opportunity to serve in different zones. This allowed me to experience different communities, cultures, and backgrounds. Most importantly, the greatest benefit of all was the ability to establish, develop and maintain relationships.
The past 7 years, I've served Velma Jackson High School as a health teacher, Assistant Athletic Director, Assistant Principal-interim/intern along with serving as assistant head football coach, head bowling, assistant track, and the strength and conditioning coach. I have a passion to motivate kids and impact their lives in a positive way.
Along with me, I will be bringing to the Jag Zone my lovely wife, Adrian and my daughter, Raileigh Skye. I am proud and excited to be part of the Rosa family. Go Jags!
