    Chris Peden 
    Head Coach
     

    Germantown athletics welcomes Coach Chris Peden as Head Baseball Coach at GHS. He comes to Germantown following a successful 6-year stint at Ridgeland High School. His record at Ridgeland was 93-78 in 5 completed seasons. In the 5 completed seasons, he led the Titans to 2 district championships, three 3rd round playoff appearances, and one North Half finals appearance. Coach Peden was also a part of 2 state championships as an assistant at Madison Central in 2009 and 2016. He was also selected to coach in this year’s Crossroad’s Diamond Club 5A/6A All-Star game. Coach Peden has head coaching stops at Mendenhall, Magee, and North Forrest HS. Coach Peden played at Jones College and Southern Miss. He is married to Ashley Daniel Peden. They have two boys, Finley and Henry.

    Coach Hardy served for 11 years as the head baseball coach at Germantown High School from 2011-2022. This year he will be taking on the role as assistant baseball coach. Also, he will be helping the athletic department with fundraising and administrative duties. Coach Hardy is entering his 23rd year of teaching/coaching with the Madison County School District. Prior to arriving at Germantown High School in 2011, Coach Hardy served as the pitching coach on current GHS Athletic Director Gregg Perry’s coaching staff at Madison Central from 2001-2011.  Coach Hardy and his wife, Allison, have two sons named Brooks (Freshman) and Reed (3rd grader).

    Coach Hill begins hiCoach Hill s 9th season as pitching coach of the Mavericks. Prior to coming to Germantown, he spent 5 years on Coach Gregg Perry’s baseball staff at Madison Central, where he worked as outfield coach as well as studying under Coach Hardy as a pitching coach assistant.Since joining Coach Hardy’s staff at Germantown, he has helped the Mavericks.

    to 8 consecutive playoff appearances as well as four 5A Region 3 championships. Coach Hill also serves as an assistant for both the Junior Varsity and 9th Grade teams.

    Coach Hill is a native of Jackson, MS and a 1975 graduate of Manhattan Academy where he played middle infield for Coach Lamont Echols. Coach Hill is married to the former Brenda Warren and they have 3 children: Amy, Thomas, and Adam.

    Coach Crowell

    Coach Crowell is beginning his 9th year at Germantown High School. His coaching duties include Assistant JV/V Baseball and Head 9th Grade Baseball. During his time on staff, the Mavericks have won four district championships and received National Baseball Field of the year honor in 2015. Also, Coach Crowell helped coach District 6 to a first place finish in the State Games of Mississippi in the summer of 2015. Before arriving at Germantown, he was an assistant coach at Houston High School where he worked primarily with outfielders. Both years while at Houston High School, they qualified for the state playoffs. 

     

    Coach Crowell is a native of Forest, Mississippi. He graduated high school in 2007 where he lettered in football and baseball. He then went on to attend East Central Community College and Mississippi State University, where he graduated with a degree in Secondary Education in 2012. He also earned a Master’s degree from Arkansas State University in Educational Leadership in 2021. During the summer months, Coach Crowell works baseball camps at different universities which include Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Texas, and Mississippi State.

     Coach Grissom is entering his 7th season as assistant coach with the mavericks. Coach Grissom comes from Raleigh High School where he was an assistant for one year and the head coach for two years. While there, he helped lead the baseball team to two playoff appearances and has sent 4 players on to the collegiate level.

    Coach Grissom is a 2002 graduate from Taylorsville High School where he lettered in both football and baseball. Continuing his education, he attended Jones Junior College where he was a pitcher for the Bobcats. Coach Grissom then attended Mississippi State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree and later worked in the Athletic Turfgrass industry for 5 years.

    Coach Grissom is married to the former Christin Butler of Enterprise, MS. They have two children, Tucker and Kinsleigh.
