Classroom Expectations:
SAFETY- Some of our projects require the use of sharp tools and hot pans. Students will learn how to safely handle these tools and measures to take should we have an accident.
NO PHONES or ELECTRONICS - This is to protect the devices as much as it is to retain focus on projects at hand. Phones will be placed in a protective pocket on silent during class. We will use phones for very few assignments, but otherwise, they should be in the pocket.
EARBUDS - Not allowed unless instructor gives the entire class permission, and this is rare.
IF PHONE/EARBUDS ARE SEEN BY INSTRUCTOR, they will be taken for the remainder of the day. Students can pick them up after the final bell rings for dismissal. On the 2nd event, students will be written up.
TALKING DURING INSTRUCTION - A sense of community is something we can foster in Art. Talking quietly to a neighbor is allowed, but never during instructions or lecture. SAFETY IS A PRIORITY AND YOU NEED TO HEAR ALL INSTRUCTION.
CLEAN UP - The last 10 minutes of class is clean up time. YOU WILL NEED TO CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF.
DO NOT WASTE SUPPLIES – Treat supplies as tools, not toys. They are also very expensive. YOU/Your parents are paying for them! If caught throwing them or wasting them, you will be given a written referral.
RESPECT OTHERS ART- DO NOT TOUCH another person's project. If you are the cause of the destruction on another person's project, you will receive a ZERO.
DO NOT MAKE FUN of another's project. Some students have never had Art/Photography. Grading is based on the effort and attempt rather than skill level.
DO YOUR BEST - No one wants to grade mediocre work. YOUR BEST is expected on every project! If your project reflects less than your best, you will need to start over on YOUR time.
