Mrs. Taylor Craft

Allison Taylor-Craft is a native of Saltillo, MS. Allison obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Mississippi in 2015. In 2019, Allison received her Master’s Degree in Music Education from The University of Southern Mississippi. While at UM, she studied clarinet under Dr. Michael Rowlett and conducting under Mr. David Willson. Allison was principal clarinetist for the University of Mississippi Wind Ensemble. She was Drum Major for the Itawamba Community College All-American Band as well as for The Pride of the South at Ole Miss. Allison was voted Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

 

In 2015, Allison was appointed the position of Assistant Director of Bands for the Germantown Band Program where she is the conductor of the Symphonic Band and is the Color Guard Director. Allison also assists the Germantown Wind Symphony woodwind section, teaches private lessons, and teaches beginner flute and clarinet classes at Germantown Middle. The Symphonic Band has received All-Superior ratings in concert and sight reading all six years they have attended the MHSAA/MBA State Concert Evaluations.

 

During her time at Germantown, the marching band has won two state championships. The Color Guard has won the color guard caption for MHSAA/MBA Marching State Championships twice. Additionally, the GHS Winterguard is the three-time MIA A Class silver medalists and WGI Regional finalists. Most recently, the GHS Winterguard went to Dayton, Ohio to compete in WGI World Champs for the first time in program history, where they were semi-finalists and ranked 24th overall.

 

 

In 2020, Allison was awarded the A.E. McClain Outstanding Young Band Director of the Year award by the Mississippi Bandmasters Association. Allison's professional affiliations include membership in the East Central Mississippi Band Directors Association, Mississippi Bandmasters Association and the American School Band Directors Association. 

 

Allison Taylor-Craft resides in Madison, Mississippi with her husband, Justin Craft and their daughter, Lillian.
