Hello There
Welcome to your Senior Year! The completion of twelve years of pre-college education is an epic deed worthy of celebration. In these courses we will be building upon the abilities you already own. We will work to sharpen your skills in reading, writing, and public speaking. Our focus will be a survey of British literature (and William Faulkner -- "The American Shakespeare"), and you will master outside reading requirements. Writing assignments will range from informal responses to formal literary analyses. Grammar practices will concentrate on advanced skills necessary for success in college, in the workplace, and in the military service branches. All lessons and assignments may be found in Canvas. We will embrace success!
The Teacher
The 2024-2025 academic year is my 36th as a licensed teacher in Mississippi. I am a graduate of Central High School in Jackson (1976). I earned a B.A. (English) from Millsaps College in 1980, and I attained a M.A. (English) from Mississippi College in 2018. I arrived at Madison Central in 2014. Working with so many talented teachers, administrators, students, and parents at Madison Central High School is an honorable mission and a meaningful experience. Preparing young learners for a positive adult life experience is paramount at Madison Central, and I am here to help students advance toward their educational paths and career goals.
