Welcome to US Government for the 2024-2025 school year!
My name is Levi Williams, and I am happy to be starting my first full year as a Madison Central Jaguar. I am in my 12th year teaching overall, beginning with US History in Panama City, Florida, and having spent my 8 most recent years at Ridgeland High School. I graduated from Forest Hill High School (27 years ago!), earned a degree in Social Science Education from Florida State University, spent years working as a professional chef in a couple of different states, and I feel lucky and thrilled to be back teaching what I love in the best high school around.
Government is always an exciting topic to navigate - especially with young people. This year will certainly be one of the most interesting ones in a very long time. It is my goal and my duty to educate and engage students, to teach them the basics, to prepare them for a life of good-citizenship, and to allow them to discover their place in the world of American politics. At no point will my personal beliefs be a part of any discussion, and I will never attempt to persuade students to adopt any political philosophies. I am simply here to teach them to think critically and make up their own minds based on the evidence available to them.
If there are ever any questions or concerns regarding me, my class, topics covered, grades, or anything else, please do not hesitate to reach out.
